I loved watching the water under the ice. Every once and a while the water would lap at the bottom of the ice-- looked like a dark circle moving along the ice. Very pretty. This is the Little Susitna River and in the summer/fall it's a milky-blue from the glacial flour.

Water and ice in the spring can be sooo cool! I also love to step on it and hear that hollow breaking sound - hard to describe, but one of my favorite sounds.
