frosty day
It's days like these that make the cold and darkness totally worth it.
We had a few days of freezing fog, leaving behind a breathtakingly
gorgeous coating of frost/rime. This was taken at 3:44 pm but the
sunrise was just as pretty (another perk of the alaskan winter-- long
sunrises and sunsets!) Today the temperature rose about 15 degrees
and the wind picked up so most of the frost is gone. Now if we could
only get some more snow...

luminaries
the luminaries were gorgeous, as usual. Perfect night for them-- no
wind, no rain (we've had a streak of bad years lately!).
It's not Christmas till...
It's not Christmas 'til Mary's lit! Ok, so it's a little
sacreligious, but so is this light up, spinning, musical Mary! (also,
did you know how hard it is to capture both the red and the green
light on at the same time?)
Christmas Eve Eve
I made it home Christmas Eve Eve... Grabbed a draught beer in the TV
room and gathered around the "dunce cap" that veils Mary until all of
the Rathbuns are around...
