2 of my lanemates, Emily and Ed, swam the 1650 last night and I counted for them. I
can only hope I can swim a 1650 when I'm 70-- good job, Ed! The picture is from Emily's swim. She did great too!

1650
Swim meet
Had another swim meet this weekend! It went pretty well, though it
was in yards and (unfortunately) I still remember my times from high
school. eek! Oh well, I still think I did pretty good and was happy
with the races I picked. (back in the 400 medley relay (new state
record!), 200 free, 100 IM, back in the 200 medley, 200 IM, 500 free
and the 200 backstroke)

Thursday I woke up to 8 inches of snow-- it was snowing like crazy!!!
I brushed off the car at lunch and when I came out after work, there
were a few perfect flakes on my car. It was so pretty! I grabbed my
camera and held my breath to take a few pics!

Denali
I'm never satisfied with the pictures I've taken of Denali from my
office window but this is the closest I've come... With my own eyes I
can see the crags and peaks but it just comes up as a white blob on
all my cameras. It's over 200 miles away and even Mt. Hunter (the
smaller peak on the far left) is over 14,000 ft-- pretty amazing!

sunrise!
the sunrise on my way to work (sorry it's kinda blurry!). The days
are really feeling longer these days... afterall, on March 21st (or
so) our days start getting longer than the days in the lower 48!!!

this blog has 3 parts! I was so embarrassed by my "needy car" picture
that I cleaned the interior while waiting in line at the carwash.

lots of people had the same idea as me today. I got tired of getting
dirty getting in and out of the car! It's been above freezing for a
week or 2 now but we know it's all just a tease. I'm sure winter will
be back soon but I'm enjoying this for now!
my needy car
this weekend I had 3 lights lit up on my dashboard: "light out", "low
gas" and "low washer fluid". CRIPES! Whine, whine, whine! Just
kidding. I got gas and washer fluid but haven't found which light is
out yet. It's a puzzle. (PS I still love my car!)

Cut through the park on the ride home. This is just a few blocks from
an elementary school and it looks like a popular route! I love the
texture.
winter ride
Got my bike out to ride to the store this afternoon. Couldn't pass up
this sunshine but still had errands to run! This is the trail along
Northern Lights and the blue blob is the tip of my lobster gloves--
whoops!

Playing with my new zoom lens again... This was taken at the park up
the street from my house. I can zoom way in-- can't wait to get out
of town and use it! (I feel a little paparazzi-ish using it in town!)

plows came!
The plows came yesterday! I went to shovel afterwards but they're
pretty nice-- didn't leave a ridge of snow at the end of my driveway!
You can see they don't mess around-- using graders and not traditional
plow trucks-- though I really don't see the plows very often. We're
pretty tough though. ;-)

This is the chair I got from my realtor. It's a funny old print but I
kinda like the vinyl ruffle. :-)

I love the texture of new snow in the long winter light! On a
creepier note, this picture was taken from my bedroom window (2nd
floor) of my neighbor's yard. I am enjoying my new zoom lens!
