this is my front yard... the grass is so thick and wet that my old
mower just couldn't do it. I upgraded to a top-of-the-line reel mower
and it's awesome. With all the sun and the recent rain, everything
here is green, green, green!

Pretty sure it's a goshawk! I was just sitting at my computer when I
saw it through my window and very carefully walked to my camera and
switched lenses... It was big! Those fence posts are 6". And once I
checked the pictures I saw it was holding on to its dinner!

(Think it came to say hi because it knew I saved his cousins' tree at
work a few weeks ago????)

This vent cover blew off sometime this spring. So we were glad
someone finally went up and took care of it. Such exciting times at
2700 Gambell.

there was a car fire outside my office this week. The Fireweed
Theatre closed so I was wondering where my entertainment would come
from... the guy who's car was on fire stood in the rain for an hour
waiting for the tow truck. Someone had a bad day!

elections office

Long time, no blog. And lots of exciting things have been happening
outside my office window. On the last day to file paperwork to run
for governor/senator the news came a few times-- the elections office
is across the street! This guy (Scott McAdams) is running for senator
as a democrat and had a small (very small) news conference.
