Replaced the old hose with a rubber tube... hope it'll stay on!
Might have to wait for a warmer day or someone strong to visit. ;-)

Success!

I don't know much...
But I know this isn't right... This is a shot of the hose that carrys
wiper fluid to the sprayers. No wonder my windshield sprayers aren't
spraying...
Looks like a victim of the cold-- broken in 2 places. The sprayers
are on the hood so this is made to flex with the hood hinge.

Pinwheels!
I made a couple pinwheels today!!! I have a lot more fabric, so I'll
just keep cutting (I think that's the hardest part!) and see what I
end up with. These will be 6x6 squares so I don't expect the finished
quilt will be very big.

Creamer's Field
Sled Dogs at Creamers Field. It's the North American Championships--
they're sprint races and these are some of the fastest dogs in the
world!

frozen
I rode to the store tonight. It was a long, hard ride. The bike path
has turned into a snowmachine path-- I'm lucky it was packed down and
frozen solid-- and shortcuts I take in the summer were no longer
there... I climbed a 6-foot snowbank, 1 pannier at a time to cross
with my bike. Big work! It's funny I decided it was a great day to
ride since it was sunny and all the way up to 5 degrees (colder on the
ride home!).
Only in Alaska...
Only in Alaska do they stop traffic for dogsleds... This weekend is
the North American Classic-- the oldest continuously run sled dog race
in the world. I hear they're shorter races, just sprints compared to
the Iditarod.

Sunset Ride
Last night I rode down to the bookstore and the pizza place. It was a
little brighter than it looks here, right around 0 degrees. I did
some shopping at the bookstore (and traded in some books) and then
enjoyed a beer and pizza at the pizzaria. I used my headlight on the
way back but not too bad for 9 pm! I'd go out again tonight but it's
quite windy and only single digit temps.

Sunshine
So sunny today but still so cold. Also, they plowed the road so I can
bike tomorrow! (I drove due to the logistics involved in catching
rides to and from the airport, just so you guys don't think I'm being
lazy!)
Beechcraft
Boarding the Beechcraft 1900 for my last weekend trip to Anchorage
before I move! It was sunny and beautiful in Fairbanks on Friday but
today it's cold again.

woo hoo!!!
I secretly love when the sun is low and I can pretend to be tall for a
few fleeting moments... Not so secret any more. Looks like I
remembered to wear my elf shoes today.
foggy morning
It was foggy and eerie on my walk to work this morning. Regular fog
is way better than ice fog! (and for a lot of reasons!)

Today's lunch
Today was the last official day but it sure was fun finding new places
to eat lunch. Today was Siam Square-- I had the special: Sweet and
Sour Chicken. It wasn't fried and it wasn't neon red-- tasted pretty
fresh to me! So good!

so much snow!
It's such a mean trick the weather plays on us... the sun gets higher
(you can feel its warmth!), things start to get a little warmer and
you'd think it's just about SPRING but it snows like crazy! It's
quite deep in the yard, but I guess that's what happens when it's been
building up since the end of September.
Prospector
an ice sculpture at Prospector Outfitters. So happy to have a camera
in my pocket at all times again!!!

hoofin it
The ride in was hellish (to say the least) so I left the bike at work
and walked home. Hit a deep spot while taking the shortcut (the
picture is of the tops of my legs if you can't tell). Tomorrow I plan
on snowshoeing to work.
Official Reading
The official reading in the parking lot at 4 pm. (6.5" if you can't read it)
Michiganders may scoff but this is pretty rare in Fairbanks. (I'm a
michigander and I was impressed)
Who wants to see where I ate lunch today!?
It was so snowy today! The roads were crazy so we postponed our lunch
tour for the day and walked to Marty's instead. We've been to Marty's
many, many times. ;-)
It's a bakery with fresh bread and cookies and brownies and muffins...
and sandwiches (made with really delicious and fresh bread!). It's a
popular spot with the PDC gang (just a few blocks away) and they know
many of us by name!

today's lunch spot
Today we went to the Oasis. Pretty good food but we came out smelling
like bar! Whoops! We just had water but it was pretty smoky. It was
a positive experience but I can't say the Oasis has been my favorite
this week.
Lunch Adventures
My coworkers and I are trying to eat lunch somewhere new every day
this week. Monday we went to Asian Bistro (delicious! Glad we found
it!) and Tuesday we went to Tubby's BBQ and Burrito House, which was
also a good find. Just a hole in the wall but good food.

pretty day
Pretty day for a ride. A dusting of snow and blue skies...
This was taken with my new camera. Hold your horses, i don't have
much to take pictures of and I'm still trying to figure it out. ;-)
It sure is nice to have a camera on the ride again.
