New bike storage!!! It's the Delta Michelangeo rack... pretty cool.
It's not attached to the wall at all which is awesome for renters.
And now I can get at either bike and I don't have to worry about them
getting in the way when I walk by.

chubby bunnies
a few glorious moments of silence when we convinced these 2 to stuff a
ton of marshmellows in their mouths (Tanya and Mitch).
Kasilof
Brian, Tanya, Chase and Mitch dipnetting at the mouth of the Kasilof
River. We came better prepared this time and brought in a total of 38
sockeye salmons. It was great weekend-- we had a lot of fun! (but
what else would you expect when 4/5 of the group are Tech grads?)

office plant update
My spider plant is having babies!!! I grew the roots and potted this
mess last year in Fairbanks so it's nice to know it's happy!
Meanwhile the vines keep growing leaves before the last ones even
uncurl-- things grow like crazy up here in the summer!
back to ship creek...
waiting for midnight so we could try and catch some silvers!!! Ship
Creek reopened at midnight tuesday (monday night) for silvers.

underwater!
no fish here.
I'm loving my waterproof camera!!! No worries while fishing or doing
things in the rain...
Ferry
Sunday afternoon we fished the Russian. We took the ferry this time,
just because it saves a little bit of walking and it's really cool.
There's no engine-- it's on a cable. When they want to go across,
they just angle the ferry so the water pushes it across. You go
across at about a 45 degree angle. So cool!
fishin weekend
Saturday Brian and I fished for pink salmon in Hope (we're not fish
snobs just yet!) and then headed down the Kenai Peninsula... we
camped in Soldotna and got up at 4:30 AM to go to the mouth of the
Kasilof River to go dipnetting for reds. You just stand in the ocean
near the river and hold the net. When a fish swims in you pull it to
the beach! It's that easy!*
*when the fish are there. Didn't see a ton of fish being pulled in.
:-\ We came home with just one. The personal use limit is 25 per
head of household.

campsite
Brian and I camped on the Homer Spit on Saturday night. The Spit is a
crazy place! We would have fallen asleep to the sounds of the waves
at high tide (it got closer than this picture shows!) if it weren't
for the fireworks/drinking at the tents next to us and the teenagers
riding horses at 2 am. Strange, strange place but we had a good time!

office plant update
My office plants grow REALLY FAST in the summer and much slower in the
winter. The leaves closest to the bottom left are this years summer
leaves and the ones closer to the pot on the top right are the winter
leaves. The summer leaves are HUGE and it seems like there's a new
one every week.
