Devil's Club is the "Bad Friend" of the Alaskan Wilderness.
As you climb up or down a steep hill and loose your footing the Devil's Club is there for you to grab and steady yourself.
But, as soon as you grab a hold, its slightly poisonous thorns stick into your hand and break off under the skin. You let go because of the pain, and end up just falling down the hill anyway.
There are only a few clothing materials known to protect someone from Devil's Club. Filson TinCloth (a tight canvas type fabric coated with wax), Big Rubber PVC Rain Coat and Pants, or Multi Layered Fancier rain pants.
This means that when you fall down the hill you'll probably roll in MORE Devils Club on the way down.
In conclusion. Even though Devil's Club is always there, it will most times let you down.

Careful with that!!! It's supposed to have some good medicinal properties! (OK - I googgled for a better pic!)
So don't leave us hanging! What are the dangers???
