Success!

Replaced the old hose with a rubber tube... hope it'll stay on!
Might have to wait for a warmer day or someone strong to visit. ;-)

I don't know much...

I don't know much..., originally uploaded by aimos325.

But I know this isn't right... This is a shot of the hose that carrys
wiper fluid to the sprayers. No wonder my windshield sprayers aren't
spraying...

Looks like a victim of the cold-- broken in 2 places. The sprayers
are on the hood so this is made to flex with the hood hinge.

Pinwheels!

Pinwheels!, originally uploaded by aimos325.

I made a couple pinwheels today!!! I have a lot more fabric, so I'll
just keep cutting (I think that's the hardest part!) and see what I
end up with. These will be 6x6 squares so I don't expect the finished
quilt will be very big.

Movie

another movie of the races. Don't they look fast!?!

Racing

Racing, originally uploaded by aimos325.

For today's race they started the slower teams first-- made for some
exciting moments near the end here. They had a few miles to go to get
downtown but we saw a lot of teams passing or about to pass. Very
exciting.

on the way back...

The dogs looked tired on the way back!

frozen

frozen, originally uploaded by aimos325.

I rode to the store tonight. It was a long, hard ride. The bike path
has turned into a snowmachine path-- I'm lucky it was packed down and
frozen solid-- and shortcuts I take in the summer were no longer
there... I climbed a 6-foot snowbank, 1 pannier at a time to cross
with my bike. Big work! It's funny I decided it was a great day to
ride since it was sunny and all the way up to 5 degrees (colder on the
ride home!).

Only in Alaska...

Only in Alaska..., originally uploaded by aimos325.

Only in Alaska do they stop traffic for dogsleds... This weekend is
the North American Classic-- the oldest continuously run sled dog race
in the world. I hear they're shorter races, just sprints compared to
the Iditarod.

Sunrise

Sunrise, originally uploaded by aimos325.

A couple times a year the sun is rising when I ride to work (fall and
spring, each twice for daylight savings time). It's a good way to
start the day.

Sunny day

Sunny day, originally uploaded by aimos325.

Today it was sunny but cold. It's been about -25 in the mornings and
getting up to about 10 (if you're lucky) in the afternoons... I am
ready for warmer weather.

Sunset Ride

Sunset Ride, originally uploaded by aimos325.

Last night I rode down to the bookstore and the pizza place. It was a
little brighter than it looks here, right around 0 degrees. I did
some shopping at the bookstore (and traded in some books) and then
enjoyed a beer and pizza at the pizzaria. I used my headlight on the
way back but not too bad for 9 pm! I'd go out again tonight but it's
quite windy and only single digit temps.

Sunshine

Sunshine, originally uploaded by aimos325.

So sunny today but still so cold. Also, they plowed the road so I can
bike tomorrow! (I drove due to the logistics involved in catching
rides to and from the airport, just so you guys don't think I'm being
lazy!)
