Here's part of our office and the snow. It was really coming down!

Who wants to see where I ate lunch today!?
It was so snowy today! The roads were crazy so we postponed our lunch
tour for the day and walked to Marty's instead. We've been to Marty's
many, many times. ;-)
It's a bakery with fresh bread and cookies and brownies and muffins...
and sandwiches (made with really delicious and fresh bread!). It's a
popular spot with the PDC gang (just a few blocks away) and they know
many of us by name!

today's lunch spot
Today we went to the Oasis. Pretty good food but we came out smelling
like bar! Whoops! We just had water but it was pretty smoky. It was
a positive experience but I can't say the Oasis has been my favorite
this week.
Lunch Adventures
My coworkers and I are trying to eat lunch somewhere new every day
this week. Monday we went to Asian Bistro (delicious! Glad we found
it!) and Tuesday we went to Tubby's BBQ and Burrito House, which was
also a good find. Just a hole in the wall but good food.

pretty day
Pretty day for a ride. A dusting of snow and blue skies...
This was taken with my new camera. Hold your horses, i don't have
much to take pictures of and I'm still trying to figure it out. ;-)
It sure is nice to have a camera on the ride again.

Golden Heart City
Brian and I went downtown to check out the finish of the Iron Dog
snowmachine race. We didn't see the winners but saw a few teams cross
the finish line. The big excitement was that Sarah Palin was there!
I get so starstruck! It was a beautiful sunny day in Fairbanks today!

purple
I had a bowl of cheerios with blueberries for dinner. The frozen
blueberries had a lot of juice and made my milk this electric purple
color!! Doesn't look natural but it's just frozen blueberries (I
checked the ingredients!). Pretty crazy.

Frozen Al Gore
Brian and I heard about this statue in town so we went to find it on
Saturday. Here's a link to the story:

Fireworks
After I worked for a while I rode back to the overpass and watched the
Statehood fireworks! There were Statehood celebrations all over the
state (Alaska became a state January 3rd, 1959) but on Jan. 3rd there
was ice fog in Fairbanks. So they postponed the fireworks till now.
Happy 50th, Alaska!
Chena River
Chena River and the sky... So pretty today!
I was surprised at the amount of open water (it's not all open) but I
don't know why it is...
Chinook Arch
Today was warm again (right around 30 degrees) so I hopped on the bike
and rode around town. First stop: a picture of a "Chinook Arch". My
boss pulled me outside the other day to point one out-- he said it
doesn't happen here in Fairbanks very often.

poor little car
My poor car! It doesn't like this cold but it's been a trooper! (As
dad says "trust that fine german engineering!")

principals pretzels
Yum! Finished pretzels! Mom slaves over the dough all day and it
takes all of us to get them rolled, dipped in lye, salted and baked.
Pretzel rolling
Matt's doughy fingers! Weird face, but what great lighting!!! ;-)
(anyone see the catchlights in his eyes?)
Dad's find
Dad was really proud of his "new" jumpsuit! He needs it when he's
taking good care of the Rathbun Fleet!
