It was rainy and windy at the top. And when things started getting
more and more like rock climbing on rocks that were getting wetter and
muddier... we decided not to chance it. I think we were really close
so we don't feel too bad... better safe than sorry!

Glad you stayed safe. I just read about a guy that had to be rescued from Flattop - some army guys were going up for PT and one of them stumbled. Sounds like he was very lucky to survive the fall he took!
Yeah... once you hit a certain section if you fall you could just keep going. Eek.
