Timber crib dam, built in 1894 and submerged for a number of years (a larger dam was constructed downstream). The top 10 feet or so were removed a few years back to avoid a failure which, even in it's remote location, would cause a lot of damage.
Beautiful picture! I have only been up to see the dam in the snow. It is really preaty. Makes me miss Houghton more :) Hope you guys had a good time up there.
