surprise Northern Lights show tonight. I think it was because I
complained last year about them always being good after midnight on
weeknights when it was -20. Saw them tonight at 10 pm on a saturday
and it was 32 degrees-- am I lucky or what?

I could see the lights through my sunroof and decided to get out--
they were right over me! This pic was taken with the camera on its
back!

I drove towards pt. Woronzof but never made it to the point. I
stopped at the bluff at the end of the runway. I took a bunch of pics
through the car window because it was cold and the car was so warm...

Well, it was late at night and I was freezing and in no mood to be
taking pictures at -10 degrees. Then the lights pretty much stopped.
So I was sitting in the car when I spotted this... so it's taken from
my dashboard, with the car running and way too high of an ISO to look
even close to OK... but there they were. Once I took a few pictures
I put my camera down and just watched. :-) (oh, and tried to point
them out to the dog but she was freezing and didn't care)

put some fold-up Ikea hooks by my front door. I'm so excited about
them! They were a pain to line up and hang but I think they look
really cool! They're not as heavy-looking as one of those boards with
hooks and they fold out of the way when not in use! And I like that
they wrap around the corner too.
