It was a beautiful, blue sky day here in Anchorage today. I think the
mountains look so majestic with the snow. The snow line is inching
lower and we've had a few days consistantly below freezing (I think
the ground is frozen). My guess is that when it snows it'll stick--
but they're forecasting sunshine for a few more days...

Saw this mosaic in the new terminal at the airport. The office went to have our picture taken since the project is about done. Looks great! The mosaic is on the ceiling and looks just like you're looking up through birch trees!

I posted this on Facebook too but I didn't want anyone to miss it. I'm so excited about it!!! We used "triangle paper" so you just sew some lines, cut on some other lines and voila! Triangles! I'm going to use spray starch ALL THE TIME from now on-- stiff fabric is so easy to sew together and cut straight! I'm also learning it pays to go slow and do a good job-- hard to get good corners if you're cutting corners!

Some friends and I carved pumpkins tonight! And we watched a scary
movie while our seeds were cooking! Mine's on the right-- I like
crooked smiles, what can I say?

Rode around Lake Hood and then up to downtown to stop by the mall.

Mom and Dad lovingly sent a batch of owl cookies and other halloween
goodies (and vitamin D). I think the 2nd best part of getting owl
cookies is the packaging! Seems like every year the parents try
something different-- it's not easy when the cookie is crumbly and you
don't want all the noses falling off! The first best part is eating
them, of course. ;-) Thanks guys!

This dog was laying ouside the coffee shop (the picture is taken through the glass) until her owner stood up-- and then she waited and watched till he sat back down by the window.  So cute.
