the guy I'm interviewing with said no one would believe I was in
Alaska if I didn't have a picture of the pipeline.

Fact: those things sticking out of the top are radiators to keep the
ground frozen around the supports. Also, the pipe expands and
contracts-- there are teflon sliders under it so it can move freely.
All things I learned today ;-)

Binder clips for film clips, hair pretties and a pen to hang the film
from and a twist-tie to keep the film from slipping out of the clip.
On the other end I hung a wrench from another binder clip (also locked
on with a twist-tie). Use whatcha got, right!? ;-)

Spotted this clematis in the yard today. ACTUALLY, i spotted it when
I was taking pictures of frost this morning and it looked droopy and
dead. A few hours later, Mom insists I take a picture-- it certainly
perked up! Clematis in the fall?!?! Crazy!

Katie and I drove around the old Michigan State Hospital in Traverse
City. It's beautiful. It'd be a little eerie if it's not being
remodeled into restaurants, condos and bakeries... cool stuff.

The top picture came out of my camera, the bottom one has been
retouched slightly (slightly, ha!). Anyway, overdone or not, I was
proud that I can make such a change. The picture is of a house along
the highway in the UP. It's a beautiful shade of red. It's also got some serious foundation issues. I always notice it though. If you like it, I can post
the bottom picture alone :-)
